Rick and Susan Day are the 2025 CCM Historical Heroes

Our 2025 CCM Historical Heroes are Rick and Susan Day!

They will be speaking at the Comanchero Rendezvous at Comanchero Canyons Museum in Quitaque, TX this Saturday, June 14th. They were hiking at Caprock Canyons State Park when Susan saw a shiny rock in the distance and it led to them discovering the second known bison jump in Texas.

A bison jump is where Native Americans herded bison off of a cliff and processed them. Now archaeologists can study how this happened locally!

This is a huge discovery and it has made waves in the archaeological community and brought quite a bit of attention to the State Park. We are so excited to hear Rick and Susan's discovery at the Rendezvous.
